| *This product is a hanging made with resin and other materials in the motif of rippan art. They are produced by students of a school for the blind/deaf in Jodhpur, Gujarat, as part of their vocational training. *What is Rippan Art? * [Lippan] is a type of mud (clay) decoration found in villages such as Katchi in Gujarat. The base is made from a mixture of mud and cow dung, which is then pressed into a pattern and dried. Mirror parts are generally pasted on the surface of the mud to wish for the safety of the family and are used as decorations on the walls of houses. |
