The Muppets are not Sesame Street characters, but characters created by puppeteer Jim*Henson. He also created [Sesame Street], and since the creators are the same, I guess you could say that Kermit is a friendship *guest star* on Sesame Street... The copyright of the character is currently held by Disney, so there will probably be no new collaboration with [Sesame Street] in the future.
