Description
From her Paris studio, Setsuko Oba traveled to neighboring countries and made watercolors and sketches of the landscapes and people she encountered there, which she completed and exhibited as oil paintings in Tokyo. This long-standing routine was ruined by the Corona disaster, and the painter experienced a great sense of loss, but she was overjoyed when she was able to step on Parisian soil again. This book is divided into two parts, "Before the Corona" and "After the Corona Disaster," revealing Ohba's fluctuating mind and the subtle changes in her work, and is published as a monumental collection of works by Setsuko Ohba, a solitary painter with a natural poetic spirit and philosophical thinking. |
