Description
This is a set of [vajra] and [vajra bell (gantar)], which are representative Tibetan esoteric Buddhist tools. During ceremonies, the vajra is held in the right hand and the vajra bell in the left. The vajra symbolizes the masculine principle of "convenience (power to save others)" and the vajra bell symbolizes the feminine principle of "wisdom (truth)," and holding both is thought to signify their union. When held in the hand and shaken, the bell makes a powerful sound, and when the attached stick is used to rub the edge of the bell, it rings out a soothing high-pitched note. The mysterious design makes it a valuable work of art. |
