Description
We face a shaky and ever-changing world. [The word "rowing" means a method of rowing a boat. The islands of the Seto Inland Sea continue to change as they sway through the endless years. We, too, weave through the days and change our own scenery little by little as we work hard to accumulate generations. Aiko Miyanaga, who will lead the next generation of Japanese contemporary art, published her first collection of works in 2012 [Aiko Miyanaga Nakasora? Aerial Sky?] This is the first collection of works by Aiko Miyanaga in seven years since her first collection [Aiko Miyanaga Nakasora? The book is published as the official catalogue of a large-scale solo exhibition of Aiko Miyanaga, who expresses "a world that continues to exist while changing" using materials such as naphthalene, which sublimates at room temperature. The book features a series of works that evoke memories, time, and sounds from her unique worldview, including scenes of a new installation using sanukite, a famous Sanuki stone that produces a clear tone, and her representative series "Letter" and "Life," based on the theme of the Setouchi region and the time accumulated by the people who have lived there. The world of Aiko Miyanaga as depicted by novelist* Yoko Ogawa, including a mini-essay.
