色変わりの発色をしている部分を「自然桟切」
また窯の焼き上がりの時に、作品の周りに炭を投入し、
炭の強還元炎と一酸化炭素による還元によって、
部分的にコントラストの強い色変わりの景色を生みだす手法を桟切と言い用いています。
