弓の歴史は後期旧石器時代(1~2万年前)とされ、
人間が野獣状態をのりこえた最大の要因は
火と弓の使用であったとされています。
日本でも各地で黒曜石の石鏃(石製のやじり)が
多数出土しています。
このように武器として発明された弓は、
やがて近代スポーツとして登場しました。
弓は物理的鍛錬と精神的修練の融合した、
より高い人間形成を目指してはじめて
上達するスポーツであり、的と自己との対決の中に
