This is a lid for a Suuun series otsumami jyubako (sold with lid only).
This is a series of light and traditionally beautiful vessels with the motif of the sun.
The lid can be used as a chopstick rest or a small serving dish.
The white porcelain clay is made into a thin layer and fired at a high temperature of 1,340 degrees Celsius.
The thinness of the clay allows the bamboo leaves to become slightly transparent and appear to float, reminding one of a scene seen through a shoji (paper sliding door).
You will enjoy the nostalgic tactile feeling of the clay when you touch and use it.
[Glazed Copperplate Vase]
Risen Pottery, located in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, was the first pottery in Japan to produce underglaze glazed copperplate transfer ware about 150 years ago.
These are vessels made by a painting technique with luster and texture, based on the technique of the now-defunct kiln and using a different paint mixture.
