About *Handmade Bells of Katch
Handmade bells from the Kutch region of Gujarat, India.
It is said that in the past, nomads living in this region used to put hand-tuned bells around the necks of their livestock and recognized each animal by its different tone.
*About the Bell Process
Bells are still made in the same way today.
First, an iron plate is cut out and shaped with a hammer and an anvil, then covered with a mixture of copper and brass powder, encased in clay, and baked in a kiln.
Finally, the tongues are attached and the bells are struck again with a hammer to tune them.
Please enjoy the beautiful sound of these rustic, handmade kacchi bells.
