The fun silhouettes of the motifs and the vivid color scheme of this unique world-view kitchen cloth are typical of paper cutout artists.
The cloth is made of mosquito net fabric carefully woven in Nara Prefecture, the only remaining mosquito net production area in Japan, and embroidered and printed in Wakayama Prefecture.
The cloth is made with starch paste used in the manufacturing process, so it looks crispy at first, but after rinsing with warm water several times, the paste is removed and the cloth becomes soft and fluffy.
Kayagofu Kitchen Cloth made of rayon yarn is 1.3 times more absorbent than cotton, and is resistant to oil stains, removing them with just a quick wipe.
The coarse weave of the kayagofu, which is unique to kayagofu, makes it highly breathable and quick-drying, so it can be used hygienically.
