The Yaki-iro chopstick rest series expresses the "colors" of pottery through the natural contrasts of shades and textures, blotches and grazes created by traditional techniques on each small chopstick rest. The "Iroha" of "Yakimono" is expressed in each small chopstick rest.
[About the Inglaze Transfer Technique]
The transfer is painted on a vessel baked at 1,340 degrees Celsius and baked at 1,100 degrees Celsius a second time. It is characterized by its ability to express even the smallest details, such as tools and vegetables drawn in a kirie-e style.
