2021年1月,他出现在BS [Fuji Break eve ~Next generation of artists~] 上。 |

The long-awaited first photo book by widely acclaimed photographer* Yukiko Sugiyama. The first photo book by widely acclaimed photographer* Yukiko Sugiyama;
Since 2017, under the title [CRASH], she has been photographing scenes of man-made objects abandoned in nature. A bomber abandoned in the desert outside Los Angeles, a classic car disintegrating in the mountains of Kurama, a ship graveyard in New York City - these are just a few examples. Sugiyama uses a near-infrared camera to capture plants in white, bringing out the contrast between decaying man-made objects and natural life. The artifacts that remain in this sci-fi, dystopian world somehow bear the face and body of a human being.
The other series [PHASES] is a record of mankind's attempts to enter outer space. The first Soviet space suits and experimental mannequins. A spacecraft that was supposed to be the successor to the space shuttle. Nostalgic images of the future collide with the ongoing material reality to create new images, such as scenes of NASA laboratories that were kept secret due to a major accident.
[CRASH / PHASES] is a landscape for the future, presenting a scene that leads to the end of anthropocentrism and the [next world].
