For those who are new to the Constitution. This book is for those who are new to the Constitution--reading the Constitution of Japan from a familiar topic.
Based on the idea that studying the Constitution and laws is a process of seeking practical knowledge necessary for people to live their lives, this book is compiled from easy-to-understand, concrete examples, mainly for students who are learning about the Constitution of Japan for the first time after entering university. The book stimulates imagination and freedom of thought, and provides an introduction to the various ways in which the Constitution of Japan can be understood.
While covering the important essentials, the book is structured so that it can be read from any chapter. At the end of each chapter, a "Think about it" section is included to encourage further discussion. In the fourth edition, a new chapter on "Emergency Situations" concerning large-scale natural disasters and new coronavirus infections has been added to consider the Constitution of Japan for those of us living today.
