Gohonde is not an intentional coloring, but rather the vessel's own coloring. It is a type of change in the kiln (yohen).

[Characteristics of Gohonde
There are many ways to fire pottery, and the firing season and weather also affect the firing process. When Kohonte is fired by a method called "reduction firing," in which the kiln is filled with less oxygen during the firing process, the iron content of the clay affects the pink mottled patterns. This is called gohonte.
This is one of the techniques loved by many tea masters since the Azuchi-Momoyama period. The appearance of mottled patterns due to kiln changes is not known until after firing, and the color varies from a lot of mottled patterns to a little mottled patterns. Please enjoy it as a characteristic of Gohonte.
