The salmon pink color is comfortable to the skin, and the characters of Choju Caricature are scattered throughout the mask, which blends in well with both Japanese and Western clothing. * Works * Heian - Kamakura period, Lent by Kozanji Temple This is a picture scroll consisting of four scrolls, A, B, C, and D. Scroll A is the first of the four scrolls, which depicts anthropomorphic figures. Scroll A is the most popular of the four scrolls, with its spontaneous depiction of anthropomorphic animals. The author of the scroll is said to be the Toba priest Kakuyu (1053-1140), but there is no proof, and various theories exist. Recent research has revealed that the order of the paintings has been changed since the original. It is thought that this is because they were originally divided into two volumes and then joined together. 国宝「鳥獣人物戯画」 平安時代〜鎌倉時代 高山寺蔵
甲乙丙丁の4巻からなる絵巻物。中でも甲巻は、擬人化された動物達がのびのびと描かれ、人気が高い。作者については鳥羽僧正覚猷(1053-1140年)と伝わるが、確証は無く、諸説存在している。近年の調査によって、当初より絵の順番が入れ替わっている事が判明。もとは2巻に分かれていたものをつなぎ合わせたためだと考えられている。
