Comment from the Publisher
Based on a true story, this is a story about an owl.
It was inspired by a portrait I drew at an actual post office.
They wanted to tell the story of this mysterious event.
The two authors set out to create a picture book together as father and son.
About the Authors
Text: Hiroki Hayashi (father) *Pictures: Tetsuya Hayashi (son)
Text: Hiroki Hayashi (father)
Born in Osaka in 1961 and currently lives in Nara Prefecture.
Picture: Tetsuya Hayashi (son)
Born in Nara in 1994 and currently lives in Tokyo.
This is the first picture book project for father and son together.
The inspiration for this book came from a visit to the post office that served as the model for the book.
Tetsuya drew Yuki, the third generation owl, on the back of a money transfer form with a pen.
Tetsuya heard that the drawing was popular among visitors to the post office.
The father and son decided to publish a picture book to convey the interaction between owls and people.
