The Koi Noboris made by wood craftsmen in the Miyajima-zaiku tradition are cylindrical in shape, while the mainstream Koi Noboris are board-shaped. The wood is made to resemble a true carp* and a scarlet carp by using the original color of the wood without using synthetic coloring agents.
