This is a heartwarming story in which you can feel the quiet melancholy and warmth in the old-fashioned and simple narrative of the main character *Kanbei.
It is the author's wish that many people will learn about the existence of "retired breeding cats" and that all shelter cats will have a peaceful and happy "cat life.
The illustrator, who also loves cats, has added beautiful pictures based on actual scenes and animals with her rich sensibility.

Born in 1995. Born in Aichi Prefecture. Aspired to be a writer since junior high school.After graduating from Aichi University in 2018, once got a job but couldn't give up on her dream, she resigned and started her writing career in earnest. She has published her novels mainly on Kakuyom and pixiv. She met a retired breeding cat*, Kanbei, and became interested in cat protection activities. She created this story for the happiness of retired breeding cats and entered it in the story category of the 10th Picture Book Publication Award for Picture Books. She made her debut as an author.
Illustration: Kana Hirakawa
Illustrator. Born in the 1980s. Born in the Chubu region. After working at a nursery school as a dietitian, she started her career as a painter* illustrator. She is a cat lover who has lived with various cats since her childhood.
