A documentary picture book about tree frogs living robustly in the nature of Sado Island.
Frogs are so cute, funny, and sometimes human-like!
The rice paddies where tree frogs live are places where people cultivate the fields, where the four seasons exist, and where water and the food chain are the key to the diversity of life.
The tree frogs of Sado Island breed in the rice paddies, changing their body color as the landscape changes, and sometimes being attacked by snakes and herons.
This photo book introduces the ecology and habitat of these tree frogs with beautiful photographs of Sado Island.

About the Author
Hiromu Nakatsu
Doctor of Green Environmental Science
Born in Osaka in 1973. D. in Agricultural and Life Sciences from Osaka Prefecture University.
After working for the Kochi Prefecture Ecosystem Conservation Society and Niigata University, he is now freelance. He conducts surveys and research on living organisms* and the environment, and also engages in photography.
He received the Incentive Award of the 9th Photography Publication Award for his photo collection "Tree Frogs on Sado Island: Residents of a World of Water and Greenery," on which this work is based.
