Inazo Nitobe, a well-known thinker and educator, explains the core of Japanese morality, Bushido, to the world in this famous book, drawing on the spirit of Shintoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism, and contrasting it with Western philosophy and chivalry. It is still regarded overseas as a must-read book that must be read first when trying to understand the mind of the Japanese people. Read this book carefully in large print to reconsider the ethics and morality of the Japanese people!
Theodore Roosevelt, the President of the United States at the time, was one of those who read Bushido and was deeply moved by it.
