This is a picture book of Ryunosuke Akutagawa's memorable masterpiece [Shiro].
Shiro is a dog whose body is as white as milk.
In a desperate attempt to save his own life, he quickly abandons his friends and runs away.
When he realizes that his body has turned completely black, he is unable to return to his owner.

How would you feel if that guilt took the form of your own appearance?
The author of this picture book, Shinsuke Tanaka, drew this work using only pencil and handwrote the text using a ballpoint pen. The delicate and dynamic line drawings weave together expressions*patterns*eye contact*scenery...... The detailed expressions reflect Shiro's mental pattern in a very colorful way, making this a book with a deep sense of taste. This is a picture book depicting the heart of Akutagawa fans, as well as children and adults. *This book is based on the book [White] published in Kodansha Aoitori Bunko [Du Zi Shun * Torokko * Magic / Ryunosuke Akutagawa], and the text has been adapted to the picture book version.

Shinsuke Tanaka is a picture book artist. Illustrator.
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1964. After working as a company employee and a manga artist's assistant, he became independent.
His picture book works include [Kapibara-kun] and [Ameagari no kapibara-kun] (published by Rheory-sha), and his illustration works include the [Okorinbo no witch no hanashi] series (Hayakawa Shobo), [Kowai! series (Hayakawa Shobo), [Kowai!] series, [Kaito Kappanya Doll] series, [Kwaidan - 24 horror stories] (Kodansha), [Tasuku Sensei no Sketchbook] series (Raitosha), [The restaurant with many orders] (Kawade Shobo Shinsha), [Kirari NAGARE Boshi] (Nagasaki Shuppan), [Helen the fox cub 10 okurimono] (Bungisha), and others. *Ryunosuke Akutagawa (1892~1927)
Born in Tokyo. One of the most famous writers of modern Japanese literature.
He left many works, including his debut novel Rashomon (1915) and The Nose (1916), which was praised by Soseki Natsume, and continues to be read by people in Japan and around the world.
He was also a voracious reader, well versed in literature, philosophy, and religion of all ages and cultures, and published works based on the classics such as The Spider's Thread (1918) and To Zi Chun (1920).
In 1927, after publishing "Kappa" and other works, he committed suicide at his home in Tabata, citing "vague anxiety. [He died at the age of 35. He left behind a number of posthumous manuscripts, including "Gears" and "A Fool's Life.
