A burglar loses his stolen money in a river.
He was so sorry, so bitter, that he searched for days without giving up, and found the money stuck in a beaver's nest and a dam!
This is a heartwarming story of innocent beavers and a lonely burglar.

This is a story that will make you realize what true wealth is and how to deal with money.
Winner of the Grand Prize in the story category of the 9th Picture Book Publication Award.

[Inspired by an American news story about a beaver who was repairing a beaver's dam using bills he found.]
This work was inspired by a news story in the U.S. that a beaver had repaired a beaver's dam using a bill he had found.
For humans, bills change the color of their eyes, but for beavers, they are useful [repair materials].
We want young children to feel that money has various meanings depending on its owner and how it is used.
We also want to make this a story that can be enjoyed by everyone, from children to adults. This is the author's wish.
This is a picture book that will encourage people to think about a "truly rich way of living" that will make them and everyone else happy.

About the Author
Yuu Koara
Born and raised in Katsushika, Tokyo.
She is a mother of one child who is passionate about creative writing and languages.
She is interested in money education and was deeply impressed by Yoko Yagi's book "Money Tips for 10-Year-Olds" (Ehon no Mori).
She is currently seeking to contribute to society by doing what is needed, drawing from her own diverse sources.
This work won the Grand Prize in the story category of the 9th Picture Book Publication Award, and marks her debut as a picture book author.
