葛飾北斎 江戸時代 東京国立博物館蔵
葛飾北斎(かつしか ほくさい)
宝暦10〜嘉永2年(1760〜1849)、江戸生まれ。6歳頃から絵をはじめ、19歳で勝川春章の門人となり浮世絵画界に入るが、狩野派・土佐派・琳派・中国画・洋風画など様々な画法を学ぶ。38歳頃から北斎を号し、読本挿絵や絵手本など新しい分野で独立独歩の作画活動をおこなった。フランス印象派などヨーロッパにも広く影響を与えた。代表作は『富岳三十六景』『諸国滝廻り』『北斎漫画』。
