A single crested white butterfly dances in front of the girl's eyes. This work evokes such a fresh spring moment. The cover is a close-up of the daughter. You can clearly see her slitted eyes and soft contours. This paper is inspired by the retro atmosphere of the Meiji period. The paper is ruled vertically with white lines. 上村松園(うえむら・しょうえん)
明治8〜昭和24年(1875〜1949)、京都生まれ。京都画壇を代表する美人画家として活躍した。京風俗や古典文学をモチーフに、気高くたおやかな女性を数多く描いた。1948年に女性初の文化勲章を受章。子の上村松篁、孫の上村淳之と三代にわたって日本画家である。
