The first scroll is a caricature of anthropomorphic figures. Scroll A is the most popular among the four scrolls, as it depicts anthropomorphic animals in a spontaneous manner. The author of the scroll is said to be the Toba priest Kakuyu (1053-1140), but there is no proof and various theories exist.
