Fukuda Heihachiro
Born in Oita Prefecture between 1892 and 1974. He studied at the Kyoto Municipal College of Painting and was selected for the first Teiten exhibition. He was a representative painter of the Kyoto school. At first, his style was based on detailed sketches, but he found his own style and moved toward simplified and innovative expression. 福田平八郎(ふくだ へいはちろう)
明治25〜昭和49年(1892〜1974)、大分県生まれ。京都市立絵画専門学校に学び、第1回帝展に入選。京都派の代表的な画家として活躍した。初めは緻密な写生に基づく作風を示したが、独自の様式を見出し、単純化された斬新な表現に向かった。代表作は『漣』『新雪』『雨』。
