Korin Ogata

Born as the second son of a wealthy drapery merchant in Kyoto (1658-1716). Founder of the Rimpa school. He first studied in the Kano school, but was inspired by Tawaraya Sotatsu and took over his style. His clear and decorative style is known as the "Korin pattern" and had a great influence on later generations. Her representative works are [National Treasure, Tsubame and Flowers] and [National Treasure, Red and White Plum Blossoms].
