俵屋宗達(たわらや そうたつ)
生没年不詳。桃山から江戸初期にかけ活躍した絵師で、京都の作画工房の絵屋「俵屋」の主宰者。大和絵の伝統に根ざしながらも、既成流派の形式にとらわれない斬新な造形、大胆な構図と鮮麗な色彩を特徴とする。宗達が創始したこの装飾画の流れは、尾形光琳により「琳派」として展開していった。代表作は『国宝 風神雷神図屏風』『国宝 蓮池水禽図』『国宝 関屋澪標図』。
