Description
Published in commemoration of the 120th anniversary of his birth A rich and highly-documented raisonné of OGUISS art for posterity. This is the first catalog raisonné of Takanori Ogisu, a painter who lived his entire life in Paris and made great contributions to the history of modern and contemporary painting in both Japan and France. Under the supervision of Ogisu's daughter, Emiko Halpern, who runs Les Résamis de *Ogis, the catalogue features 1,500 works carefully selected from the many paintings he produced from before he moved to France until his later years. In addition to the one-color black-and-white illustrations, as is the standard for catalog raisonné, the volume also includes detailed data on the works, including their source histories and information on their publication in the literature. Also included at the end of the book is Ogisu's chronological record and a detailed catalog covering many documents from his lifetime to recent years, which will be a valuable resource for future Ogisu research. In addition to the data on Ogisu's works, the chronology is written both in Japanese and French, so that people in Japan and France who loved Ogisu's works can appreciate the charm of the artist anew. [Features of this book ] * Illustrations printed in one color in black and white, faithful to the basics of the catalog raisonné. * The illustration pages are limited to basic information, and a list of works at the end of the book provides necessary information such as exhibition histories. The layout is designed to make it easy to collate the vast amount of data. * In addition to a brief chronology * bibliography, an index at the end of the book lists the works in alphabetical order, allowing the reader to search the pages in which they appear. *Bilingual text in French and Japanese *French-Japanese Supervision/Rezami *de *Ogis Supervisor/Rezami *d*Ogis A4 size, 552 pages (1,500 illustrations) |
