Description
| This is a carefully hand-woven linen paper case. It has two pockets, and the top fastens with a cord secured by a clasp. *Flower Motif Series* We have selected flower-related motifs inspired by ancient arts and crafts housed in Nara’s *Shōsō-in* and the refined decorative patterns of imported goods, then reinterpreted them in the style of *hata* (traditional Japanese banners). Please enjoy the subdued colors and delicate patterns. Karakusa (Arabesque): Derived from the patterns on felt-like mats [Hanajō] housed in the Shōsō-in. Delicate lotus flowers and vines. A pattern characterized by beautiful, supple curves. Hōsōge: A filigree pattern found on a copper-cast, lidded container housed in the Shōsō-in. The luxurious vines and flowers encircling the entire surface are particularly eye-catching. Sarasa (Sarasa): A Sarasa pattern that was introduced to Japan long ago via India and China. It depicts the varied forms of celosia flowers within a delicate textured background. *Related Keywords* Made in Japan, Nara Prefecture, Natural, Present, Gift, Hemp, Linen, Ramie, Ramie, Handwoven Hemp, Japanese Patterns, Japanese Miscellaneous Goods, Japanese-Style, Hemp Goods, Textiles, Shōsō-in, Arabesque, Patterns, Tōdai-ji, Komon, Antiques, Mother’s Day Gift, Tea Ceremony Utensils, Kaishi Case |
