Description
| This series of wallets is made of vegetable tanned horse leather (vegetable tanned horse leather) by A. Castro & Filhos ,Lda (Castro*Filhos), a tannery established in 1977 in Portugal. The leather is made from European raw horsehide, and is treated with a unique process that makes it contain a lot of oil and wax. The leather is soft to the touch, but the wax makes it tougher and more durable. The oil gives the leather a suppleness and deep coloring that fits comfortably in the hand. The moderate unevenness of the dye gives the leather an antique look. The gentle, airy, bag-sewn form is soft to the touch, and as it is used, wax gradually permeates the leather, changing its appearance from a wrinkled, casual image to a shiny, luxurious look, making this series an enjoyable aging experience. |
