Utagawa Hiroshige, Tokyo National Museum Collection

For seasonal letters to those close to you. These postcards are designed with a blank space for writing a letter.
Through the postcard, you can feel the arrival of early summer in the palm of your hand.

Hiroshige Ando
From 1797 to 1858 (Kansei 9 to Ansei 5), he became a student of Utagawa Toyohiro and entered the ukiyoe world, not liking the family job as a fireman's assistant. At first, he painted beauties and portraits of actors, but he gained fame for his landscapes and became a leading artist of landscape prints. He also left behind flower-and-bird and hand-painted works. His representative works include "The Fifty-three Stages of the Tokaido", "Famous Places in the Eastern Capital", and "Eight Views of Omi".
