[Nagasawa Rousetsu
Born in Kyoto from 1754 to 1799. Studied painting under Maruyama Okyo and distinguished himself early on with his individualistic expression. He learned from Okyo's precise and compositional sketches, and left behind a wide variety of works with an uninhibited, bold style and eccentric ideas. His representative fences are "Yamamba" and "Flower, Bird, and Fish.
