The work was born when a rat running along the side of the dimly lit tracks in a New York subway station overlapped with the artist himself, who had come to the U.S. without any idea what to expect, and a sense of familiarity came over him. Origin of the name: ANDY, a Maltese dog, was living with ANDY when he created ANDY, and the expression of the mouse he drew while spending time with ANDY the dog looked just like that of ANDY the dog, hence the name. |

しつぽのないねずみの男の子。松本セイジ氏が描くアート作品のキャラクターとして誕生しました。食いしん坊のANDYはいつもチーズのことで頭がいっぱいです。好きなことは、チーズに挟まること。
History: 2017年にニューヨークで行われた、松本セイジにとって初めての個展で発表した作品が「ねずみのANDY」です。ニューヨークの地下鉄の駅で薄暗い線路の脇を走るネズミが、何のあてもなく渡米した作家自身と重なり親近感が湧いたことがきっかけで誕生しました。
名前の由来：ANDY制作時に一緒に暮らしていたのが、マルチーズ犬のANDY。「いぬのANDY」と過ごしながら描いたネズミの表情が、「犬のANDY」にそっくりだったことから名付けられました。
