The double-layered structure of the body and slit colander ensures that steam circulates evenly and moisture is evenly distributed to the rice. Moisture is also evenly distributed to the rice through slits all around the colander. The double-layered structure prevents heat loss, and freshly cooked rice can be immediately stored in the freezer. The lid is equipped with an air valve to release excess moisture and prevent sticky rice. The lid can be defrosted and heated in a microwave oven without removing the lid from the freezer. The air valve on the lid opens naturally with steam, so there is no need to open and close the valve when freezing, defrosting, or heating rice.
