Calligraphy: Honami Koetsu

In particular, he is known as one of the "Three Writings of Kan'ei" in the field of Noh calligraphy. In his later years, he established an art village called Koetsu-mura in Takagamine, where he produced various works of art. His representative works are [a waka scroll with underpainting of cranes (a joint work with Tawaraya Sotatsu)] and [an inkstone box with maki-e lacquer on the bridge of a ship].

The decorative painting style originated by Sotatsu was developed into the Rimpa school by Ogata Korin. His representative works are [National Treasure: The Wind and Thunder Gods], [National Treasure: Lotus Pond with Water Fowl], and [National Treasure: Sekiya Mioji].
