| Flat type sheets made of cool and comfortable 100% hemp shrink cloth (chijimi-uno). The fine wrinkles (shibo) created by artisans' hand-tea firings are tasteful and the light texture will not cling to your skin even in the sweaty season, inviting you to a comfortable sleep. * What is Chijimi material? Ojiya Shrink is a traditional hemp fabric from Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, which we have improved and woven into a wider fabric. Shrinkage fabric is made of 100% ramie (ramie), a long fiber with excellent water absorbency and heat dissipation properties that are very gentle to the skin, and its cool and light touch makes it useful in the spring and summer seasons. It is stronger than kimono fabric, and has been ingeniously designed to be easily washable. The wrinkles formed by our craftsmen in the hot water fir (a technique that has been used since the Edo period) on the woven fabric are a major feature of this fabric. |
