ホンジュラス・マホガニー
(正式名称：Swietenia macrophylla)
西洋三大銘木のひとつで、繊維方向に現れるリボン杢と呼ばれる立体的な見た目から、 高級家具や高級楽器などに使用される木材として有名です。
木材としては加工性が良く、安定性や耐久性も高いです。
木の皮に近い辺材と中心部の心材の色の差がはっきりしており 辺材は黄色白、心材の色は淡赤色から暗赤褐色まで さまざまな表情を持っているのが特徴です。
天然木を使用しているので同じ木目・色合いの物は一つとして存在しません。
