About *Jagannath (Jagannatha)
One of the gods of Hinduism. Originally an indigenous deity worshipped in the state of Orissa in southeastern India, Jagannath was merged into Hinduism because he was identified with Krishna in Hinduism.
The main deity is worshipped at the [Jagannath Temple] in Orissa, one of the four holy places in Hinduism, along with Jagannath, his brother Balarama, and sister Subhadra. Therefore, Jagannath is often depicted together with the above-mentioned siblings.
