Echizen Washi paper with elegant watermarks of Birds, Beasts, and Caricatures and gold foil stamping are used for the design. It can be used in a wide range of situations, so it is very convenient to keep one in your wallet or pocket! * Work introduction * National Treasure [Caricatures of Birds, Animals and Humans], Heian - Kamakura period, Lent by Kozan-ji Temple This is a picture scroll consisting of four scrolls, A, B, C, and D. Scroll A is a caricature of anthropomorphic figures. Scroll A is the most popular among the four scrolls, as it depicts anthropomorphic animals in a spontaneous manner. The author of the scroll is said to be the Toba priest Kakuyu (1053-1140), but there is no proof, and various theories exist. Recent research has revealed that the order of the paintings has been changed since the original. It is thought that this is because they were originally divided into two volumes and then joined together.
