書道における臨書とはなんだろう。
今回、本の出版にあたって
改めて考えてみました。
古典に倣うことは書道の原点、
ただ字をうまく書けるようになる手法ではなく、
自分の書の幅をぐんと広げてくれる
確かな礎となるものです。
私は教室で生徒さんたちに
臨書の指導をしていますが、
同じ古典で学んでも、
ひとつも同じものはありません。
その人の持つ癖や特色が
意識していなくても出てくる、
その違いが個性の第一歩ではないかと思います。
古典と向き合って、
自分なりのスタイルを確立していくのが
本来の姿だと思います。
そこはとても遠く、
私もまだまだ道半ばです。
