樫の木はその字が示す通り大変固い素材です。ただ堅いいだけでなく粘りもあり、また耐朽性にも大変優れています。
堅い故に加工がしにくく、また大きな原木が少ない事から大型家具にはあまり見かけませんが、衝撃や負荷が大きい大工道具の柄にはほとんど樫が使われる他、太鼓のバチ、餅つきの杵、木造の橋や初期の鉄道の枕木やレールなど、特に強度が必要とされる要所には樫が使われます。頼れる材木、樫を1本贅沢に使用したステッキです。
【こだわり加工】
シャフトに数か所、竹を連想させる様な装飾の切れ込みを施しました。切れ込み部分には焼きゴテを使用したアンチーク加工が施され樫そのものの木目を生かしながらも奥行きのある表情に仕立てました。1本1本微妙に異なる色や表情は手仕事ならではの証です。
