Description
*Featured [Sin*Bourgogne, France]. Burgundy boasts a deep-rooted popularity among wine fans. Many people prefer the noble and elegant Pinot Noir wines, and Burgundy is by far the most popular of them all. However, due to its scarcity and low production volume, some winemakers' wines have become the target of speculation in recent years. Burgundy is expensive and difficult to obtain, and its closed nature makes it difficult for newcomers from outside to enter the market. There are passionate producers who have come to Burgundy from other regions of France or from other countries and are boldly working to make wine, and young producers who have taken over the wine making in Burgundy, but instead of following the tradition of the previous generation, they are turning in their own direction. In this special issue, we focus on 12 notable producers with these backgrounds, and through on-the-spot interviews, we will explore their winemaking philosophies and the wines they produce. *Special Article [Japan Wine Competition 2022]. After two consecutive years of cancellation due to the Corona disaster, the Japan Wine Competition 2022 was held for the first time in three years since 2019. 108 wineries from all over Japan participated in this 18th edition, and while the number of entries was limited due to the Corona disaster, 706 wines were entered, 24 of which won gold medals. This article introduces all the gold medal-winning wines and reports on the latest developments in Japanese wine as seen through the competition. In addition, we will also provide you with information on Champagne maisons and wines from around the world! |
