| Haynes is an American casual underwear brand founded in 1901 by Pleasant *Henderson *Haynes and his brother John *Wesley. In 1913, the one-piece underwear [Union*Suit] hit the market, and in 1932, [Sport], the prototype of today's briefs, was introduced. This knit men's underwear became popular for its wide variety of colors. Later, after World War II, Haynes established itself in the underwear market. In 1965, Haynes introduced a T-shirt made of its proprietary cotton [Hainset], which suppressed stretch and shrinkage, a weak point of cotton shirts; in 1977, Haynes introduced the thick, durable, yet comfortable T-shirt [BEEFY-T]; in 1966, Haynes introduced the first T-shirt made of the same material [BEEFY-T]; in 1967, Haynes introduced the first T-shirt made of the same material [BEEFY-T]. In 2006, Haines Brands, Inc., which operates Haines and Champion brands, was spun off from Sara*Lee, Inc. |
