フランス製のごく細い糸を撚り合わせて模様を編み出した、
繊細で上品な仕上がりが特徴のレースです。
手編みレースのような立体感と繊細さをもつ美しい表情は
“最もハンドメイドの仕上がりに近い機械レース”と言われています。
リバーレースの機械本体は現在では製造出来ないため、
およそ100年以上前に製造されたアンティークマシンを使用し何万本もの糸を紡いで
編み上げています。
世界でも限られた場所でしか作られないため、大変希少価値の高いものとなっています。
その製法は1800年代から変わらず時代を越えて現在まで受け継がれています。
