| Ichihara Seito, fog and ice, 25cm platter The "Fog and Ice" series is a series of dishes with a faint blue color in the middle of the dish. It looks like an ice mirror surrounded by fog in a deep forest. The process that looks like ice is called "kannyu-go," which is a pattern of cracks created during cooling after firing due to the difference in shrinkage rate between the glaze and the base material. 器の真ん中あたりがほんの薄っすらとブルーに色づいた「霧氷」シリーズ。
まるで深い森の中、霧に包まれた氷面鏡のよう。
氷にみえる加工は貫入模様といい、釉薬(うわ薬)と素地の収縮率の差により、焼成後の冷却時に生じるひび模様のこと。
器を焼成後、冷ましている時に「ピンピン」と貫入が入る音はとても美しいです。
シンプルな白も奥深い印象に。
ニュアンスを楽しめる美しい食器です。
