| Momoyogusa soft double gauze hand towel [Waterfowl Dance]. [Momoyogusa" is a word used in the Manyoshu (The Anthology of Myriad Leaves) to describe chrysanthemums, mugwort, dewdrops, etc. There are various theories as to its meaning. Sessaka Kamisaka, who was active in Kyoto during the Meiji era (1868-1912), was influenced by William Morris and other European crafts movements, and created modern Rimpa designs (Japanese style and modern designs). This is a hand towel made of gauze material with a modern Japanese style drawn based on such a background. It is made of double gauze material, which is soft to the touch and absorbs water well. It is made in Japan. |
