Description
This is the first collection of works by Daisuke Tajima, an artist with overwhelming imagination and superb drawing ability, depicting imaginary cities where aggressive lines run in all directions and spread out infinitely. Tajima's work is influenced by the American SF movies and Japanese animation he saw as a child, as well as his own memories from his travels to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China. The high-density monochrome space is a surreal world where only industrial and emotionless things can exist. The world in which the human figure is eliminated and the buildings take center stage and continue to proliferate is the artist's own mental landscape, a meta-verse that functions as a place that provides a kind of comfort different from reality. |
