Description
| The kyusu is made by craftsmen in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, the historic center of kyusu production. Each kyusu is carefully handmade by craftsmen, from the molding of the body, lid, spout, tea strainer, and handle to the final baking process. The delicate and soft movements of the craftsmen are like those of a Kabuki actor who has a great deal of skill and attention to detail, right down to the tips of his fingers. The tea strainer is made of fine mesh ceramic that has no metallic smell and brings out the aroma and flavor of tea to the fullest. The more the tea strainer is used, the deeper its color and luster will change over time, making it even more endearing. |
