| This Kutani Akiyoshi Kiln has been painted with a soft design that we hope you will incorporate into your daily life. We are sure that this teacup will brighten up the atmosphere of your dining table. [I am trying hard to create Kutani-yaki pottery that is out of the shell of its high-class image, and to bring a sense of fun and the winds of the seasons into the everyday use of the pottery.] This is why Mr. Yamashita created this piece. Kutani ware was developed in the early Tokugawa period, together with Kakiemon ware in Hizen and Ninsei ware in Kyoto, and is one of the three main origins of overglaze enameled porcelain in Japan. The technique has been passed down from generation to generation for 350 years since the opening of the kiln, and after Ko-Kutani, it was followed by Ki-me style, Yoshidaya style, Shozo style, and Eiraku style, establishing the modern style, which is highly evaluated worldwide. Since each piece is carefully handmade, no two pieces are exactly alike. Please understand that no two pieces are exactly alike. The saucer*spoon is not included.
